Shawn and Lindsey had originally planned an intimate backyard wedding at their home in Richland Center, with a reception in Tomah to follow. It seems Wisconsin October weather had other plans though. I was amazed how smoothly everything transitioned to Cranberry Lodge in Tomah. The staff there was so kind, attentive and paid attention to all the little details. The DJ, Dustin from DB Entertainment made the transition easy as well. He was not only got the party started for the reception, but took care of sound during the ceremony and officiated as well. It’s always so great to work with Dustin.
By afternoon, the rain had dissipated. We were able to take the bridal portraits at a nearby park. The lake made a beautiful backdrop. And even the heavy clouds couldn’t drive away the laughter and fun from Shawn and Lindsey. Their wedding party were such good sports, making it fun in spite of the cold. The trees were just starting to turn colors. Later than usual for this part of Wisconsin, but we found a beautifully colored patch. Shawn and Lindsey got little pops of fall colored leaves throughout their wedding photos.
Shawn chose to say his vows privately to Lindsey. He wanted to look into her eyes and share his heart without an audience. As tears of joy trickled down Lindsey’s face, Shawn told her how much he loved her. Even from the start, years ago. When he let her go, because he didn’t want to hold her back. But love doesn’t give up that easily. They both tried to move on. Live their lives. But their hearts needed each other. When they got together again, now years later, it was for forever. Shawn finally has the farmer’s daughter. Now, his wife. The wind wisped her curls. The lake rippled in the background. As Shawn and Lindsey sealed their love with a kiss.
Shawn and Lindsey wanted their day to be filled with fun. Laidback. Filled with people who have been there for them in life. Through the thick and thin. Good times and bad. Everything was so beautiful, and I was honored to capture it all. <3
