Nathan and Brianna were such a dream to photograph. They were so easy going. When you’re having professional photos taken, it can be easy to feel nervous and stiff. But, take notes from these two and just relax, lean into each other, laugh a lot, and truly spend this time enjoying the presence of your partner. Brianna’s Mom is the one behind the camera for Mary Hampton Photography, so I’m sure they have plenty of experience being in front of a lens! You’ve trained them well, Mary 😉
We had chosen St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien for their photos. I knew there was a row of crabapple trees as well as several other spots that I love. Then. The Mississippi River was at extremely high levels. The island was closed for quite some time and I had a full backup plan in my mind. We lucked out, however! They ended up opening the island that day! We noticed more traffic than normal, as locals drove around, surveying the damage done by the flooding. And, you can tell some places were still on the muddy side. To me, the blossoms were so worth it though.
As you scroll through their photos, keep an eye out for our special guest 😉 Harley is their sweet Chocolate Lab/Golden Retriever puppy! They had just picked her up the day before and she spend most of the session snoozing in the truck. We made sure to get her out for a few minutes though. She seemed like such a snuggly little squish. I’m sure these two will love getting to know her in their years together and how special to have these photos to remember their first couple days.
Nathan and Bri – I am so excited for your wedding next month! I can already tell, it’s going to be one of my favorites. <3
