What a beautiful day. It’s been a rainy spring, but these two had the perfect June wedding. Sunny skies, slight breeze, and an abundance of love and joy. It was such an honor to capture Cole and Treena’s wedding day memories. I absolutely loved getting to know them both during the planning process too. From coffee dates to engagement photos, and late night phone calls.
There were so many special moments. But, one thing I thought was so cool was the stop we made between the wedding and reception. Treena’s grandma is one hundred and three years old. She didn’t make it to the celebration, but we brought the celebration to her. Treena’s parents, grandparents, and a few siblings all made a special trip to the family farm. It was clear how important family is to Treena and Cole. And I know they won’t regret taking the time to see her grandma on their wedding day. She seemed so delighted to see them all dressed up, and honored that they prioritized taking the time to see her. I doubt I’ll live to be one hundred and three, but if I do, I hope my great-grandchildren are just as close with me.
Cole and Treena waited to see each other until their wedding ceremony. With Cole at the alter waiting, Treena took her father’s arm. She was absolutely glowing. The said their ‘I dos’ in the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Fennimore, Wisconsin. Then, after a stop at the farm, we headed to Memories on Maple for their reception. Arriving guests could enjoy not only an assortment of snacks, but root beer on tap and an ice cream machine. You can’t go wrong with a good root beer float on a warm summer day. Cole’s Aunt Monica, along with Treena’s Mom and sister, made the wedding cake and amazing homemade cookies. And did I mention? Chocolate fondue! Cole and Treena cared so much about their guests and making sure everyone had a great time.
With the dance floor full and hearts overflowing, Mr. and Mrs. Leatherberry are officially husband and wife. I have loved getting to know you both and getting to see how deep your love for each and for Christ runs. I wish you both a lifetime of joy!
