Drew and Megan’s Fall Wisconsin Wedding in Prairie du Chien

Back to Blog Home

For Drew and Megan, their wedding day wasn’t just a show-up event. Not even close. They have spent hours along side their family and friends preparing for this day. Every detail has special meaning and a purpose. But, after all the hours and days and weeks and months, finally it was October 9th. Megan and her father stood on one side of the white, wood doors, with Drew and their closest friends and family waiting, holding their breath, on the other. The blue sky spread above them as the music started ♫There, you see her, Sittin there across the way. She ain’t got a lot to say, but, there’s something about her ♫ (Disney fans, recognize these lyrics?). And everyone stood.

During the ceremony, their officiant brought up letters that these two wrote to each other. I don’t think there was a single person who wasn’t smiling while different parts of them were read. From Megan’s dad grinning, to Drew’s mom nodding her head, remembering well the moments talked about. They were in the 8th grade when Drew first asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Not thinking much of it, Megan’s answer was basically, “Sure, why not?”. Little did either of them know what the future would hold. That eighth grade agreement has turned into a lifelong commitment. Good times. Hard times. Laughter and tears. These two have already gone through so much life together. And now, they promise to stand by each other’s side the rest of their days. Standing in front of their families, their friends. At Duck Inn Lodge, owned by Drew’s family, where so many memories had already been made. They promised forever.

They celebrated. One huge project they took on together was transforming Megan’s grandparent’s barn to a wedding-worthy venue. And, wow. Talk about a success! But, rather than tell you about it here, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, make sure you scroll to the bottom for all magic they created!

Drew and Megan, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day! It was so a joy getting to know you both and I can’t wait to see where life will take you.
