The couple that hunts together, stays together. Right? Jacob and Jadyn were so fun to get to know. We talked about a few different ideas for their engagement session. St. Feriole Island won out. I love that there are so many different options and backgrounds there. This time of year, it’s always hard to predict whether we’ll have fall colors, or if everything will still be green, or if the leaves will be gone and it will be brown. October dates are just a wild card (And September 30th, like their session was!). I had several sessions in the last couple weeks from Prairie du Chien to La Crosse to Viroqua, and most of them were still pretty green. But, we found patches of color and took full advantage. I think it’s been a warmer fall than some and so the season is stretching out.
Jadyn wanted their session to feel like them. She went with denim and matching black t-shirts because it just reflected their style. They love to be outdoors – hunting, camping, fishing. Jadyn and Jacob packed a picnic to incorporate as well which I loved. We set up near the water and it was right as the sun was casting its bright golden hour rays which made it so dreamy. The willow branches caught the breeze. The water rippled in the background. And I got to capture pure magic. As the sun set, Jadyn changed into a dress and we went down onto the dock. The Mississippi River reflected the beautiful sky as it changed from blue to pink. Another day of laughing together and loving each other. Jacob and Jadyn – I am so honored to capture the love you share. I cannot wait to join you again on your wedding day!
